The Kewanee Police Department has a narcotics detective assigned to the Black Hawk Area Task force with the Illinois State Police.  This officer works with other officers from several other municipalities, county Sheriff's offices, and the Illinois State Police. This group specializes in the investigation of distribution of illegal drugs and drug trafficking at both the state and federal level. The Task Force also partners with other local departments to assist in their drug investigations.
