The Kewanee Police Department is also fortunate to have a police narcotics/tracking service dog on its staff. Our Belgian Malinois, Rosco, was purchased to assist in the fight against illegal drug use and trafficking. This service animal has also been trained to assist when suspects flee or for helping track the whereabouts of lost children or citizens. K9 Rosco’s handler is Officer Eric Peed. This team attends monthly trainings to ensure that the best in service is always available. Rosco's purchase was made possible by the acquisition and awarding of seized drug funds and contributions from the Henry County State Attorney Matt Schutte.
