The Street Crime Unit, previously consisting of up to three officers, now comprises a single officer. Presently, the role of Street Crime Detective is fulfilled by the Investigation Sergeant, who is responsible for investigating low to mid-level narcotics activities within the City of Kewanee and its neighboring areas. This detective also provides critical support to patrol officers during significant incidents and maintains a close collaborative relationship with the officer assigned to the Black Hawk Area Task Force
