Former Mayor passes

Bruce Tossell was a public servant in his work for the State of Illinois, as well as in his volunteer time.  Bruce was first elected to the Kewanee City Council in April 1997.  He served two and a half terms on the City Council.  He was then elected as our Mayor in April 2007.  He served as our Mayor for two terms, choosing not to seek reelection in April 2015.  During his time on the City Council he was instrumental in the erection of the new train depot, as well as many other capital improvements throughout Kewanee.  Bruce was also an advocate for the education of our children.  His loss will be felt by many.
